Hello there!</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: left;">
I obviously have not updated this poor blog in quite a while. And by quite a while, I mean over a year! It's crazy how quickly a year can fly by, and how much can happen in that year! I thought the most effective way to bring this blog somewhat up to date would be to post our letter and pictures that we sent out in our Christmas card this year. 2014 was a busy year with lots of fun memories, and most importantly, a new baby!!<br />
Enjoy! -JAG</div>

I don't know about y'all, but I am super excited for Christmas! :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It's true, I <i>might</i> be one of those people who listens to Christmas music in October and I <i>might</i> be one of those people who starts Christmas shopping in September. So of course I'm thinking about our annual family Christmas card and my favorite part of that card...the pictures!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The fall leaves are so beautiful right now that I knew we had to take advantage of the beauty before they all die and fall off the trees. So I roped the family into a quick, camera remote/self timer photo shoot this afternoon. The kids were awesome! The bribery was quite simple this time...smile, cooperate and be done in 30 minutes, or don't smile and cooperate and we can come back next week and do this all over again. :) Thankfully that seemed to do the trick! We actually got all these pictures in 25 minutes!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I love this sweet family of mine!</div>

Today Hannah is 11 months old. Can you believe it?! I can't.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Except when I look at these pictures and see that they are proof positive that my baby is growing up! (that and the huge mess behind me on the floor because my baby can crawl and get into everything!)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
She is definitely growing up.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I would maybe think about being sad over that fact, but she is just so much fun that it is hard to be sad about it!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
How we love this baby girl!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
We did our monthly photo shoot in Hannah's bedroom this morning and it was a lot of fun!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I finally captured some of her "tricks" she has learned lately. :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
First up we have her "squishy face." She makes this on command and it is so funny! I absolutely love the squishy face!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sDZdCv5_oGA/UmVvevM2hvI/AAAAAAAABRU/AJ5ViUx1GdI/s1600/squishy+face.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sDZdCv5_oGA/UmVvevM2hvI/AAAAAAAABRU/AJ5ViUx1GdI/s320/squishy+face.jpg" width="213" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Next up we have the sticking the tongue out and moving it back and forth really quick. Grandpa Henke just got her doing this one this weekend while they were here visiting and it is quite cute!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rAPpM5iPefQ/UmVv09NjXDI/AAAAAAAABRs/C4r3X_VcwU0/s1600/11months3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rAPpM5iPefQ/UmVv09NjXDI/AAAAAAAABRs/C4r3X_VcwU0/s320/11months3.jpg" width="212" /></a></div>
<br />
And here are just a couple more pictures because they are too cute not to share: <br />

<br />
So adorable! And now I better start planning the 1st birthday celebration, it will be here before I know it! We are all super excited to celebrate this cute baby girl!Janellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13190332287444181303noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4926551699142370620.post-50002040295314374452013-10-03T08:19:00.001-07:002013-10-03T08:19:48.555-07:00Henke Family Photo Shoot<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Hello!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I am so excited to post these pictures!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Last June we went to Utah for our summer vacation.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
We went to see our family and also because it was my mom's 50th birthday and we wanted to help her celebrate...whether she wanted to, or not. :) </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
On her actual birthday we went to the temple and then out to Kneaders for dessert...yummm. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Then a few days later we took family pictures. I just <i>absolutely LOVE</i> how they turned out!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I owe a big THANK YOU to my awesome father-in-law, Steve, who came and took the big family shots of us all together, and the ones of all the adults together. They turned out fabulous and they really are treasures! Between myself and my brother, Todd, we managed to get the rest of the smaller family shots.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I feel like these pictures are so real. They capture who we are as a family, craziness and all, and <i>I just can't say enough how much I love these pictures.</i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
But I probably have said it enough...so here they are. :) Enjoy!</div>

<div>
I love taking pictures.</div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">I love looking at pictures.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">I love scrapbooking pictures.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">I love hanging pictures of my favorite memories and my favorite people on my walls. I want to be surrounded by moments shared with people I love. </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Yeah, I'm a bit obsessed. </span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Precious, isn't it?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
It's my Grandma Henke and Hannah back in March when we were up in Utah for a spring break visit. I just love when I manage to capture sweet moments like this. So if anyone ever wonders why I'm a bit obsessed with always having a camera with me, this is why. Love it. </div>

Well, Miss Hannah's got you fooled!<div><br></div><div>This silly baby girl will get herself in perfect crawling position, reach for what she wants and grab it...then she sits back down! It's so funny! It seems to me that it would be more difficult for her maneuver herself back to sitting than it would be to just crawl away, but she's got that maneuvering thing down pat. The crawling thing, not so much!</div><div><br></div><div>Ohhh, but she is CUTE! And happy, happy, happy, too. :) She is full of smiles and cuddles and happy baby sounds. </div><div><br></div><div>Yeah, I'd say she's got this whole 'melting Mom's heart' thing down pat, too!</div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-Es26KyZAe4c/UjsQdfOFsaI/AAAAAAAABMw/lQ-wN8tElgk/s640/blogger-image-1640422153.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-Es26KyZAe4c/UjsQdfOFsaI/AAAAAAAABMw/lQ-wN8tElgk/s640/blogger-image-1640422153.jpg"></a></div></div>Janellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13190332287444181303noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4926551699142370620.post-22092367702587815812013-09-10T20:42:00.001-07:002013-09-19T07:56:40.067-07:00MomentsI'm pretty sure anyone who has raised children, or is raising children, would agree that somedays you have to look for and hold onto those little moments of joy to help you ride through the, umm, 'less glamorous' moments of being a parent. Well, today was a pretty great day and I had little moments with each of our kids that just made me really grateful for the opportunity to be their mom. I thought I better record those moments, you know, store them away for future days when I need a little sunshine. :)<br>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
Joshua: Tonight as I was getting the kids in bed Joshua was begging for time to read the Book of Mormon. Of course I couldn't refuse that, so I let him read in bed for a few minutes. When I came back in to tuck him in bed he told me that the Book of Mormon was his favorite book and he loved reading it. He has been marking his favorite verses as he reads and the other day he told me he has found all kinds of great "power verses" to mark (anyone else think that sounds just like his dad?). :) I'm so grateful he is discovering the great spirit that comes from reading the Book of Mormon!</div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
Grace: I got a call from Grace's first grade teacher tonight. She was calling to talk to me about a spelling test Grace missed when we were out of town last week, but she also wanted to let me know what a wonderful girl Grace is and how much she loves having her in class. At the end of each day in their class they pick someone who was really well behaved to be the 'teacher's pet' the next day. Grace was chosen to be the teacher's pet a week or so ago and was super excited about getting to do it. Well tonight her teacher wanted to tell me that Grace was chosen to be the teacher's pet again today but she let another girl in her class be teacher's pet because she had already had a turn. What a girl--I am so proud of her!</div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
Hannah: This baby girl is such a happy and easy going baby, for which I am very grateful! I love getting her out of bed after she's been asleep because she is always so happy to see me. I've been trying to teacher to say mama pretty much since she was born, and she's finally caught on. I hear Mamamamama all day long now and it's music to my ears! :) I love it.</div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
So those are my moments for the day. Pretty good moments, I think. I love my kiddos!</div>

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Yep, yesterday was the first day of school.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Isn't it crazy how fast the summer flies by?!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
We did have a great summer though.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Lots of fun activities as a family, which was perfect!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And now the big kids are off to school!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Joshua started 3rd grade and Grace started 1st grade.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It is going to be a great year, I can just tell!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
At their school this year they have a new principal and a new assistant principal, </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
as well as lots of new teachers.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Both of their teachers are new to the school.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It's lots of changes at one time, but we feel really excited about the changes!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
We have been so impressed with Joshua and Grace's teachers, as well as the new administration.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
They are great ladies who really seem to care about our kids, which means a lot to me.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And the kids are so excited for school this year, which also means a lot to me!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Every day I ask them what their favorite part of school was that day.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Neither of them could pick one yesterday.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
There were just too many good things, they said.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Oh how I love to hear that!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Janellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13190332287444181303noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4926551699142370620.post-72754979061521335072013-07-15T12:26:00.001-07:002013-09-22T12:43:56.612-07:00A little reminder<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
It's just a normal day around here. The big kids are having a few moments of getting along (thank heavens!), Hannah is asleep, and I am procrastinating doing the dishes and laundry by cleaning up my mess of a craft room. For the last year it has been a dumping ground for all kindsof paraphernalia, so I'm bound to find some real treasures as I clean! Of course, technically right now I'm just sitting in my messy space writing a blog post. :) I'll get to the cleaning eventually....</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I was looking around trying to decided where to start when I found this:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-l5ddaw0BZ7I/UeRM9tUggbI/AAAAAAAABKo/vc_zZyk-SYo/s640/blogger-image--820597642.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-l5ddaw0BZ7I/UeRM9tUggbI/AAAAAAAABKo/vc_zZyk-SYo/s640/blogger-image--820597642.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I remember when I made this little wall hanging for my craft room. It was about three years ago, back when we were trying to have another baby and were unable to. I was feeling full of happiness and sadness all at the same time. Happy that I had these two adorable little kids who filled my life with so much love and joy, and yet so sad that there wasn't any other little ones to share that love and joy with. I would often sit in here and try and work on projects and I would just end up sitting here crying instead. Those months and years were long and very hard for me. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
But look where three years has taken me! I feel so very blessed!! Hannah is almost 8 months old and I can't help but watch her grow and be constantly reminded of the many blessings we've received in the last year or so. I am grateful to be sitting on this side looking back, but I am also very thankful for the things I learned during those hard years. I know Heavenly Father is aware of us on an individual level. His promises are real. Sometimes blessings come now and sometimes they come later and sometimes they come in the eternities, but I know when we are faithful, they come! Isn't that amazing? I'm grateful for this simple reminder today!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>

Well, the end of the school year has come and gone and we are in the full swing of summer...YAY!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I love having my kids home for the summer.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Except for maybe yesterday when they were fighting most of the day. Didn't love that so much.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
But I was only called a mean mom once and only one of my children screamed that they wanted to go back to school, so I think we will survive.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Ahhhh...Summer! :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I really <i>do</i> love it!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Anyway, here are a few pictures from the end of year celebrations.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
First up, Grace's Kindergarten Celebration:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9fIUK2Nnz_c/UbI6bUQk2AI/AAAAAAAABHQ/tjdFoff0EcM/s1600/GAG+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9fIUK2Nnz_c/UbI6bUQk2AI/AAAAAAAABHQ/tjdFoff0EcM/s320/GAG+1.jpg" width="213" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
She was a nervous at first, but once she got going she was singing her little heart out. So cute. She had informed me beforehand that she would be the loudest girl singing, and she was definitely giving it her best shot! :) I am proud of Grace and all she has learned this year. She is a great reader and loves to do math. She's one of those crazy kids who <i>likes</i> doing their homework. Not sure where that trait came from, but we'll go with it!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RgW8kwgSaew/UbI6iBnsbGI/AAAAAAAABHg/Uxc6uAZTmT8/s1600/GAG+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RgW8kwgSaew/UbI6iBnsbGI/AAAAAAAABHg/Uxc6uAZTmT8/s320/GAG+2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And here is Grace with our favorite Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Ellis. Both Joshua and Grace had her and we just think she is awesome! She is having a baby and moving this summer so we will miss her!<br />
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gNE5emjTV5g/UbI6hJNx9-I/AAAAAAAABHY/e4z-68ZejFI/s1600/GAG+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gNE5emjTV5g/UbI6hJNx9-I/AAAAAAAABHY/e4z-68ZejFI/s320/GAG+3.jpg" width="213" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Next up, Mr. Joshua and his 2nd grade awards assembly:</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Nz47Lwyilcg/UbI6iy4JZVI/AAAAAAAABHo/6KLjlXJ14Vc/s1600/JBG+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Nz47Lwyilcg/UbI6iy4JZVI/AAAAAAAABHo/6KLjlXJ14Vc/s320/JBG+1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Joshua received an award for reading as well as a citizenship award. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This kid is an awesome reader! He reads well beyond his grade level but the thing that gets me is his fluency and comprehension. I'm pretty sure he can read faster and remember more than I can when I read!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I was also proud of him for getting the citizenship award. His teacher and other staff at the school have often told me what a good kid he is and I love that!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-QSUEF0NNESo/UbI6oVJqdII/AAAAAAAABH0/HxJG4FFoRNk/s1600/JBG+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-QSUEF0NNESo/UbI6oVJqdII/AAAAAAAABH0/HxJG4FFoRNk/s320/JBG+2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-tEkdwAO0rY8/UbI6opMEeaI/AAAAAAAABHw/4KSGGgCo83Q/s1600/JBG+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-tEkdwAO0rY8/UbI6opMEeaI/AAAAAAAABHw/4KSGGgCo83Q/s320/JBG+3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">WAY TO GO JOSHUA AND GRACE!!!!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">HAPPY SUMMER!!!!</span></div>

We hope you all had a wonderful Easter! We had a nice Easter weekend here. On the day before Easter we had 40ish people from church over for an Easter Egg hunt. It was a little crazy but a whole lot of fun! On Easter Sunday the kids enjoyed their Easter baskets and church meetings were good. I always love going to church on Easter and singing the special hymns and learning more about the Savior. It really is a joyful holiday when we contemplate the wonderful blessings that come to each of us because of Christ's atonement and resurrection!</div>
<div align="left" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
After church we had some friends over for Easter dinner, too, so that was a lot of fun. All in all a lovely weekend! :)</div>

Hi. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
There are so many things I need to record here on the old blog...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
someday I will get to that. :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Today I had to take a quick minute to share this picture:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Zj_5GTutIlw/UVCmncqSS8I/AAAAAAAABGA/50l5QfZHqek/s1600/My+love.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Zj_5GTutIlw/UVCmncqSS8I/AAAAAAAABGA/50l5QfZHqek/s400/My+love.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I recognize that I am a bit partial to this Little One,</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
{who is now FOUR months old - - CRAZY!} </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
but <i>doesn't she just make your heart happy?</i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I know she does mine.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And Bryan's.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And Joshua's.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And Grace's.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Yep, we are all quite smitten with her around here.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I love that she has awakened in me things I was forgetting, </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
mostly the wonder and miracle of motherhood and the overwhelming gratitude I have to my Heavenly Father for letting us be earthly parents to His precious children.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
They are pretty amazing spirits, aren't they?!<br />
<br />

With so many of our friends and family in town for Joshua's baptism, we decided to go a head and have Hannah's baby blessing the same weekend. Hannah was blessed during Sacrament Meeting at church on Sunday, December 9th. It was wonderful to have so many family and friends there for this very special day for our family. She was given a beautiful blessing by Bryan, a blessing that confirmed to me what I already knew: this little girl we have waited so long for is very special! I am so grateful I get to be her mom, that I get to love her and teach her. What a wonderful blessing! I have to admit that I am grateful for the time spent waiting and longing for this sweet girl. As painful as the last three years often were, I have a different outlook on being a mother than I would have without the last three years. Being a mom is what I was meant to be, I feel that more deeply than I even did before, and I certainly cherish the experience more than I did in the past. That thought makes me feel a bit guilty, but then I realized that I really wouldn't have known how to cherish theses moments so fully had I not wanted them so badly. The waiting has truly been a blessing to me, and I think to our whole family. I'm almost certain we couldn't love a baby more!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_vzfoG0GL8w/UPGjaLiCVQI/AAAAAAAABFs/J70SnDeWlu0/s1600/blessing+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_vzfoG0GL8w/UPGjaLiCVQI/AAAAAAAABFs/J70SnDeWlu0/s320/blessing+2.jpg" width="287" /></a></div>
<br />
At Grace's request, Hannah wore the same white dress that Grace wore when she was blessed. At first I thought I wanted each girl to have their own dress, but I am glad Grace wanted Hannah to wear her dress, especially since I made it. The plaid baby blanket below was mine when I was a baby, and I have pictures of me on my blessing day with the same blanket. Kind of special. :)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-tJ6EGGQYBAQ/UPGjYs7sDdI/AAAAAAAABFk/FYcZ6n02JkQ/s1600/Blessing+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-tJ6EGGQYBAQ/UPGjYs7sDdI/AAAAAAAABFk/FYcZ6n02JkQ/s320/Blessing+1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
We love our Baby Girl!Janellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13190332287444181303noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4926551699142370620.post-78749756518035160332013-01-12T07:51:00.000-08:002013-06-10T09:29:37.887-07:00Joshua's Special Day!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
On December 8th, 2012, Joshua turned eight years old! (Can it really be true?!)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It was a very special birthday because that afternoon he was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was so excited for this day! He and Bryan had been meeting about once a week for several weeks before his baptism and Bryan had been teaching him basic lessons about the gospel and what it means to be baptized, so Joshua had been looking forward to this special event for quite a while. We were blessed to be able to have many family and friends there to support Joshua; it was wonderful. We had a whole group of visitors from Utah and Idaho: Grandma and Grandpa Guymon, Grandma and Grandpa Henke, Great-Grandma Larsen, Aunt Maren and Uncle Spencer, Aunt Paige, Aunt Katie and his cousin Anthony all made the long trek down for this special weekend! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LKBHZb676A0/UPGACg4gSlI/AAAAAAAABFA/6pRu59WJ1j0/s1600/002+5x7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LKBHZb676A0/UPGACg4gSlI/AAAAAAAABFA/6pRu59WJ1j0/s320/002+5x7.jpg" width="228" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jJSZcgRBRsA/UPGAGaXjfVI/AAAAAAAABFI/3lFdQb1dD4E/s1600/004+5x7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jJSZcgRBRsA/UPGAGaXjfVI/AAAAAAAABFI/3lFdQb1dD4E/s320/004+5x7.jpg" width="228" /></a></div>
<br />
It was so sweet to watch Joshua be baptized. He came out of the water with a huge smile on his face, he was so excited! Grace was really excited for him, too. As soon as Joshua was baptized Grace turned to me and with a huge smile on her face she said, "He did it!" I couldn't help but be grateful for all the time and effort we put into helping him prepare for this important event, reading the Book of Mormon and having the lessons with him. I know he realized how important this day was, and he wanted to be baptized because he knew why he should be baptized. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />

Okay, I will be honest and admit that one of the things I was really excited for with having a new baby was getting to take newborn pictures. It wasn't the only thing I was excited for, of course, but it was definitely one thing on the list! I even bought a couple of props, made headbands, etc., so I was all prepared. It was so much fun I think we will have another photo shoot soon! These were taken on Nov. 27th when she was six days old. I have a lot more to edit, but here are a couple favorites.</div>

Well, I am finally here to report on this sweet baby girl and her big arrival! I'm almost two months late and I'm typing one-handed, but I'm here. :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Hannah Margaret Guymon was born Wednesday, November 21st at 8:25 am. I had been slowly going into labor since Tuesday morning, with the contractions gradually getting more frequent throughout the day. This was my first time going into labor on my own and I just assumed these contractions would go away like they always had before. It was late afternoon before my mom was able to convince me that I was really in labor! Then I started feeling a little panicky...I may have had two children previously, but I still didn't know what on earth I was doing!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I was laying on the couch while everyone else was eating dinner and I started having visions of my water breaking while I was still over an hour from the hospital. My contractions were coming 8-10 minutes apart, so I decided that was enough and told Bryan I wanted to go to Amarillo, just in case, even if we just stayed in a hotel. Joshua just took it all in stride, but poor Grace started bawling. I guess the idea of mom suddenly rushing off to the hospital was too much for her. She acted like I was never coming back and even gave me her noodle necklace to take with me. :) It was really hard to leave her when she was so distraught, but I knew she would be fine once we left, and she was. Grandma Henke took good care of her.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
We drove to Amarillo and got there around 8:30 pm. I called my doctors office as they had instructed me. I got the doctor on call and she basically laughed at me for coming in so early, but told me I could go ahead and go up to labor and delivery to be checked anyway. We did all that and the labor and delivery nurses told me to walk for the next two hours. That was fun....ugh. :) Bryan and I walked the same loop on the third floor about a million times, it seemed. I was so glad he was there, that would have been a nightmare by myself. He kept me laughing when I just wanted to lay down and cry...or sleep. That was exhausting! The whole time we walked I had contractions every 3-4 minutes. When I was finished it was a little after 11:00 pm and the nurses said they had talked to my doctor and he had said to admit me to the hospital...yay!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The nurses came in and hooked me up to an IV and all the monitors. During this process my contractions slowed down a bit so they were only coming every six or seven minutes. The nurses said I could just rest through the night and then my doctor would put me on pitocin in the morning. I didn't know what they were talking about...I was in labor and I knew it and I was going to have a labor without pitocin, dang it! They finally had me all settled and left the room around 1:00 am. They had literally just walked out the door when my water broke....HA! Bryan went out and brought the nurses back and they called for the anesthesiologist. He got there about 45 minutes later and soon I had an epidural, which was lovely. :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So then everyone was ready and waiting, thinking I was going to have our baby girl anytime. Unfortunately I got stuck at a six for a long time...like four or five hours. Those hours are a bit of a blur of nurses in and out of the room sand me falling a sleep a little here and there. We kept loosing Hannah's heart rate on the monitors, and every 20 or so minutes her heart rate would drop pretty low in reaction to the contractions. This happened when I was having Joshua, too, because he had the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck, so I wondered if that was what was happening with Hannah as well. It turns out that was the case, but she was also face up instead of face down. Those two things combined kept her from dropping for a long time. Finally around 6:00 am I was progressing again and by a few minutes after 8:00 it was time to start pushing! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Pushing was scary for me. Hannah wasn't reacting very well to the whole birthing experience, which was understandable considering her position. Her heart rate would drop really low when I would push, and there were a couple of times right at the end that I swear it just stopped all together. I was so exhausted I didn't know how I was going to find the energy to have a baby. As much as I hated hearing her heart rate do that, it scared me so bad that it gave me the determination to just get this baby born. I was really grateful for our doctor, he handled the situation so calmly, which I really appreciated and needed. I always felt like he knew exactly what he was doing and I could trust him to do what was best for our baby. Hannah was pretty purple when she was born, but he got the cord off her right away and before we knew it she was a beautiful, normal, pink color. In a matter of minutes she was absolutely perfect, looking just like our other babies had. It was such a relief to see her, alive and well. There was a part of me that just couldn't really believe I was going to have a healthy baby girl until I saw her for myself. It was amazing!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Now for the pictures!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-EcWO7pKQ5eQ/UL-IQuVJCdI/AAAAAAAABCE/nJh2mSVpZ_M/s1600/First+picture.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="297" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-EcWO7pKQ5eQ/UL-IQuVJCdI/AAAAAAAABCE/nJh2mSVpZ_M/s320/First+picture.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Hannah is our biggest baby, weighing in at 8 lbs. 2oz. and measuring 20 3/4 inches long. She has a good amount of dark hair...more hair than Grace had but not as much as our crazy haired baby Joshua. Her face was a bit bruised from being face up, but it cleared up really quick. Like our other babies, she has long fingers and toes and chubby cheeks!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This next picture is my favorite. When they finally handed her to me she was still wide awake. She just stared at me and we totally had this connecting moment. It was like she was taking me in, figuring out who I was. I know that is what I was doing with her. I just looked at her and thought, "so you are the one I have been waiting for for so long." She is such a peaceful baby and I could feel that as we stared at each other. I also felt that she has a very wise spirit. It was amazing to be able to just look into her eyes that soon and for so long. She was actually wide awake for the first couple of hours after her birth. She was silent as could be, but wide awake, staring at us and everything around her. What I wouldn't give to know what she was thinking about during those first hours, so fresh from Heaven!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
It was so fun to watch Joshua and Grace meet her for the first time! They were instantly in love with her and still are! Joshua noticed her peaceful nature right away, too, commenting that Hannah was a very "gentle" baby. <br />

<br />
Grandma meeting Hannah for the first time. We decided she looks a lot like Joshua, although I think she has a bit of a Grace look in her, too. So I guess she is a pretty good mix!<br />
<br />

<br />
And that is the story of our sweet, miraculous, peaceful little Hannah. We are even more in love today than we were seven weeks ago. What a blessing it is to have her in our lives, a blessing that I thank my Heavenly Father for each and every day. I am grateful to have these sweet memories that I will treasure forever!Janellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13190332287444181303noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4926551699142370620.post-66502065403323596682012-11-27T15:00:00.001-08:002012-11-27T15:00:27.769-08:00Sweet Baby<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Still waiting on this little one.<br />
Of course, we have really been waiting for over four years now, so I am not too surprised that she is coming in her own sweet time instead of on my time table! :)<br />
And technically my due date isn't until Monday, so she really isn't even late yet...but she's getting close!<br />
I had a doctor's appointment yesterday. Over the weekend I had a few good stretches of contractions, so we were hopeful that Dr. E would just keep me there...but no. Nothing had even changed since last week! All those contractions for nothing! Now my next appointment isn't until two days after the due date. Blah...doesn't this girly know how badly we want to meet her?!<br />
Maybe Thanksgiving is a good time to have a baby after all... :)Janellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13190332287444181303noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4926551699142370620.post-79827359315043149152012-11-04T18:31:00.000-08:002012-11-04T18:31:50.151-08:00Halloween Family StyleHalloween sure seemed to come and go in a hurry this year.
<br />
I think it was midway through October by the time I had all the decorations out, and I may or may not have been found making my costume on the evening of October 30th. :) My brain was certainly more focused elsewhere this year!<br />
Thankfully our kiddos picked costumes that were not only things we had on hand or could easily obtain, but they also chose costumes that went together, so we were able to pull off a nice little family theme without too much effort. Yay!<br />
Grace wanted to be a Pampa Harvester cheerleader, and since it is all the rage for little girls to wear mini Harvester cheerleader uniforms to the Friday night home games, that was an easy one to track down.<br />
Joshua wanted to be a football player, and he already had a Cowboys uniform, so that one was a cinch, too.<br />
Bryan and I decided that since the kids had picked coordinating costumes, we better go along with the theme as well. Bryan has a friend that refs games, so he borrowed his uniform, and all I had to do was paint my shirt with a football for Hannah to "wear." The kids thought that was especially awesome!<br />

We had a chili supper and trunk-or-treat at the church, which was fun. It is always good to see so many people from our ward come together for some good times! Poor Grace wasn't feeling too hot, and I think walking around the parking lot was about all she could handle anyway, so it was perfect. :)<br />
And now Thanksgiving will be here before we know it...time continues to fly!<br />
I am especially excited for Thanksgiving this year, so fly away, Time, fly away! :)<br />

Yep, we are almost there!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This sweet baby's due date was three weeks from yesterday. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It's crazy to think that after all this time we are just days away from meeting our baby girl.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
We couldn't be more excited!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<br />
<br />
It has been really sweet to see how excited Joshua and Grace are for baby Hannah's arrival. <br />
They no longer want to give <i>me</i> hugs and kisses...just the baby. :) They love to hug and kiss my belly, and Grace can often be found rubbing her nose on my belly, trying to give "Miss Hanny" (as she sometimes calls the baby) nosies.<br />
I love it. <br />
I never thought Joshua and Grace would be this old when baby #3 joined us, but it has been really neat to have them old enough to know and understand what is happening. They are so excited, and already they are being really helpful. They are getting really good at noticing when I drop things and picking them up for me...which is much appreciated! :) <br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Bryan is also super excited...I think he is more anxious for my upcoming doctor's appointments than I am. :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Because we are over an hour from the hospital and it is our third baby, our doctor has said that if I ever come to an appointment and he finds I am progressing quite a bit he would keep me there and break my water to induce labor, rather than risk me going back home and going into labor with such a long drive to the hospital. So we are going to each of the appointments with a hospital bag packed, just in case. We can always hope, right? :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Bryan is such a great dad, and I am excited to see him with a little baby of ours in his arms again.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
I am excited, and admittedly a bit nervous. I worry about being so far from the hospital, especially because I have never gone into labor on my own before. What if I don't realize what is happening until it is too late to get there in time? Yikes! I really don't want to have a baby on the side of highway 60! :) And then there is the fact that it has been nearly six years since we had a newborn. I'm sure it will be an adjustment for us all. But in spite of the nerves, I am really, really anxious and excited to meet this little baby girl. It seems like <i>forever</i> that we have been waiting for this day. I don't know if I can even imagine the joy we are going to feel over the next few weeks as Hannah joins our family!<br />

Yesterday was the first day of school for these cute kids. They were quite excited! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Grace started kindergarten and is so excited to be in school! She has the same teacher Joshua had in kindergarten, Mrs. Ellis, which is who Grace was hoping to have and we were all thrilled that it worked out that way!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Joshua started 2nd grade (can it really be true!?) and he has Mrs. Campbell. She seems like a really great teacher, but admittedly the most exciting part to Joshua is that his buddy Huston is in his class for three years running!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Here are a few first day pictures...how do they grow up so fast?!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I did pretty well dropping them off yesterday, and amazingly I didn't even cry. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It was such a different experience than when I dropped Joshua off for his first day of kindergarten. It was was so much easier knowing that Grace knew some of the people I was leaving her with. We walked into the classroom and Mrs. Ellis says, "Grace! There you are! I've been waiting for you!" and goes on to tell us how excited she was to have Grace in her class. Huge difference.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I went and had lunch with each of them and they were both so excited about being back in school! The school staff was getting quite a kick out of Grace. She has been at the school with me so many times that she already knows a lot of the rules and how things work. When I went to meet her for lunch the secretary told me I better hurry down to the cafeteria because Grace was waiting for me. Apparently the teachers had taken them to lunch a few minutes early, so I wasn't there yet when she got to the cafeteria. Grace was insistent that she needed to sit at the special table for kids with visitors, but the cafeteria staff wouldn't let her because I wasn't there yet. She finally sat at the table with the other kindergartners, but kept telling everyone that her mom was coming and she had to sit at that table! The school counselor said Grace had it all figured out and they might as well just move her to second grade, too. :) We had lunch and she definitely talked more than she ate, which really isn't a surprise! I don't think I am ever going to lack for details of how her day went!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Lunch with Joshua was really sweet. He had been a bit nervous for the first day, but by lunch he was an old pro again. Now he was just worried about me! He kept asking me if I had cried yet, and what I was doing with my day by myself. He asked how Grace was liking school and if she had made any friends yet. He asked if she was being good. :) What a sweet boy! We are so lucky to have such a caring son, and these little sisters are so blessed to have such a caring big brother! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I was so busy yesterday I hardly had time to realize my kiddos were gone. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Then today hit...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Bryan took the kids to school and I am sitting in this silent house with nothing urgent to do all day...for 7 straight hours. Really? After nearly 8 years of not even being able to go to the bathroom alone, I am not sure what I am supposed to do with that many hours alone. I did okay until about 10:00, and then I bawled! I miss my kids...a lot!!! But at least I have cute little reminders of them around my house, like this:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SK1to6_54yc/UDzy998abuI/AAAAAAAAA-4/h5R2c23FlF4/s1600/In+the+mirror.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SK1to6_54yc/UDzy998abuI/AAAAAAAAA-4/h5R2c23FlF4/s320/In+the+mirror.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Look how little! I love these two...even if they have to grow up. :)<br />
At least I am only alone for a couple of months, then I will have a little baby to keep me company and keep me busy. <br />
Of course that means the cycle of kids growing up too fast just starts over...Yikes!Janellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13190332287444181303noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4926551699142370620.post-19760527231466443422012-08-12T20:45:00.001-07:002012-08-12T20:48:14.556-07:00Grandpa Larsen<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
My dad called me yesterday afternoon, from his cell phone. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I knew something was up as soon as I saw it was Dad calling, especially from his cell phone. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
He started off like he always does:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
"Hi Janelle, what's going on in Texas?"</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
"Nothing much, Dad. What is going on there?"</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<i>I'm thinking, come on Dad, I know something is up...</i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
"Well...I just wanted to call and let you know your Grandpa Mel just passed away about an hour ago."</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I knew it was coming, but it is still sad. Even though he is 86 and has lived a wonderful life, it is still sad to see him go. My world felt sad today, knowing he isn't here anymore. How grateful I am for the knowledge that he is in a better place with people he loves who passed on before him. And someday we will see him again. I will give him a big hug and he will say "Hi, Beautiful." The thought makes me smile...and cry. :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
As I have been reflecting on the many memories I have of my grandpa, I have been feeling especially blessed simply because I have so many memories with him! How sad it would be to have him pass away and leave me feeling like I didn't know who he was. Thankfully that is not at all the case!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Grandpa was cheerful, hardworking, patriotic, and a very loving husband, father, and grandfather. I always loved when he would tell Grandma how beautiful she looked. She would roll her eyes and "Oh...Mel!" him, but you couldn't miss the sweetness in the exchange. He would always thank us for coming to visit, and especially for bringing the kids by, because he knew how happy it made Grandma.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I loved to listen to his stories about growing up in Hyrum, UT and about his time in the Air Force. It seemed like he could remember everything! Dates, names, places, it seemed that he knew it all. Until he started to forget some things...it was kind of hard for me when I realized he couldn't remember where I lived or why we lived here. But he was still Grandpa, sweet, and still throwing out that occasional joke.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I had the opportunity to spend a few minutes with him alone in June when I was home visiting. He had just been released from the nursing home/rehabilitation center after 3 or 4 months of recovering from hip surgery. Although, while he was there, he had pneumonia and broke his pelvis, so he didn't come home in very good shape. He wasn't able to walk on his own, so he couldn't be left alone. I went to sit with him while my mom took Grandma to a graveside service. It had been an especially hard afternoon: he had fallen while Grandma was trying to get him to the bathroom. Grandma was sad and frustrated; I could tell she put her whole heart into caring for him, and it was really hard on her. She was crying as she left with my mom and Grandpa noticed. He turned to me and sadly said "This is really hard on Mom, and I don't know why." My heart hurt to see him wanting to take care of her like he had in the past, to fix what was hurting her, but not having the memory to realize that it was his health problems that were making her so sad. He loved her so much!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
We sat and talked about things in the news for a bit, and then we just sat in comfortable silence. I liked being there, just me and him for a few minutes. I was so grateful to have that time with him and to witness the caring and love between Grandma and Grandpa. I couldn't help but think that this was <i>true love.</i> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
As we have seen his health decline over the last several months, I have been secretly hoping that when he passed away it would be at a time when I could go for the funeral. My doctor has already told me that I can't travel anymore starting in a month or so, and I was worried that he would pass away at a time when I wouldn't be able to go and be there with my family. We already had a trip to Utah planned for this week, one last hurrah before school starts and then the baby comes. We get to Utah later this week and the funeral will be while we are there. I am so grateful that I will get to be there to celebrate his wonderful life, and to be there for Grandma.</div>
